Shelter/Spay Neuter Fund

Shelter Spay/Neuter Fund

Our pets deserve to receive the best care possible.  This includes having them spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering provides health benefits for our pets (for example, lowering the incidence of some cancers) and helps to reduce the population of unwanted animals. Our goal is to do what we can to prevent unwanted litters from ending up in animal shelters.  To help achieve this, Ruff-Spots will fund at least one spay/neuter per month for any adoptable animal from a shelter or rescue organization.  The more funds we have, the more we are able to disburse to these charities.Guidelines for Eligibility for Registered Charitable Animal Rescue Organizations and Shelters:

  • The animal shelter or rescue organization which has direct care of the animal deems that the animal would be more adoptable if it was spayed/neutered

  • The animal is no danger of being euthanized due to an inability to quickly re-home it.

  • To the best knowledge of the staff or volunteers of the animal shelter or rescue organization caring for the animal, the animal has shown no signs of agression toward humans, nor any serious agression towards other animals (i.e, biting, attacking)

  • A picture and a biography of the animal must be submitted by mail, email or fax to Ruff-Spots Animal Welfare Foundation, Inc.

You can view the animals that we have helped under our success stories.

  1. i have a pet that is 6 years old and i need to get him done, i can’t seem to ever get the funds together, i just rescued a second dog and the humane society funded her spay.

he (chico) is 6, and is about 40 pounds, how much would his neuter, needles and microchip cost??

i love the work that you do and don’t want to wait any longer to get chico taken care of, i have been very lucky to have a healthy and wonderful dog. now i have 2
